San Marcos Youth Baseball Softball Association (SMYBSA) is tentatively seeking to run baseball and softball leagues in Fall 2020. In order to plan for a fall season in a way that will work best for all involved, we would like to know how many players and coaches are interested in participating. Please read through the tentative schedule and notes and then fill out the survey below whether you are interested in being part of a fall league, or not.

Tentative Schedule: Practices would begin on or about August 24, with games running approximately from mid-September to the end of October. The number of games per week, and the total number of games for the season, will depend on availability of opponents.

Important:

A fall league will only be played if allowed by state and local guidelines for safety during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Players, coaches, parents, and fans will be required to follow safety rules set by the City of San Marcos and SMYBSA according to the guidance of the CDC and any other relevant standards.

Games will most likely be played in San Marcos, Wimberley, and Kyle—players will need to be able to travel to those out-of-town games.

Games will be run according to the rules of PONY baseball and softball, as well as SMYBSA local rules.

The method of organizing team rosters will depend on the level of interest. There will be no try-outs or draft. Either coaches will organize their own teams, or coaches will coach their own child(ren)/dependent(s), plus players randomly assigned to the teams. SMYBSA will have final say on how rosters are organized.
