What does my child need to play?

Equipment

The minimum equipment your child needs is a glove. We recommend getting them a bat (see our rules page for legal bats) as well as their own helmet but the league can provide teams some helmets. Cleats are also strongly recommended.

Uniform

League provides a hat and shirt. You will be asked to provide pants, belt, and socks.

Does my child need to go to tryouts or enter the draft? (spring season only)

This season all players in the 8U and up divisions need to attend tryouts unless they are a coach's kids.

If you are not able to attend tryouts you still are eligible to play. You just don't aren't eligible to be drafted by a coach and will be placed on a team by the SMYBSA board.

6U players do not need to attend tryouts.
